Hans Tausens Hus in Ribe

Distance: 0.08 Km

Hans Tausen's House, south of Ribe Cathedral, dates from the 1500th century and is the last remnant of the bishop's residence in which the Lutheran bishops, including Hans Tausen, lived. Denmark's reformer, Hans Tausen, was bishop of Ribe from 1542 until his death in 1561. Hans Tausen's House is located by the Cathedral, where a statue of him has been erected. He translated the Bible into Danish, wrote a collection of sermons and was a hymn writer.
