The Wadden Sea is one of the world's 10 most important wetlands and has the status of a national park, game and nature reserve and, since 2009, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is large and enriching - a place full of experiences and knowledge for everyone - a unique natural area, unique in Denmark, and with global significance.

The entire 500 km long tidal area, which stretches from Blåvandshuk in Denmark through Germany to Den Helder in the Netherlands, now has World Heritage status. The part of the Wadden Sea, which lies in Germany and Holland, has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.

Øen Mandø sydvest for Ribe vil netop i denne tid give store oplevelser.

The warm and shallow water of the Wadden Sea is also a growth area for many of our most important fish species, and here especially the summer visitor mullet can meet in shoals. Today, the Wadden Sea has Denmark's largest population of harbor seals.
