Hans Tausen's House, south of Ribe The cathedral dates from the 1500th century and is the last remnant of the bishop's farm in which the Lutheran bishops, including Hans Tausen, lived.

Denmark's reformer, Hans Tausen, was bishop in Ribe from 1542 until his death in 1561. Hans Tausen's house is located by the cathedral, where a statue of him has also been erected. He translated the Bible into Danish, wrote a collection of sermons and was a hymn poet.
